Jessica Dennison, M.D.

Jessica Dennison, M.D. graduated from University of Louisville Medical School in 2005. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine in 2008, where she served as a chief resident in 2007-2008. She has been a practicing Emergency Medicine Physician with Emergency Medicine Physician Associates serving Clark Memorial Health from 2008 to present. Dr. Dennison also serves as a Clinical Professor in Emergency Medicine of the University of Louisville. While working in the Emergency Department and through her teaching appointment, she noticed a significant number of patients with preventable diseases who have not been educated on diet, nutrition, genetics, exercise and lifestyle changes. This, combined with her love for education, fostered an interest in functional medicine, prevention, and teaching patients about healthy lifestyles. She realized how little knowledge patients have regarding their diets and lifestyle choices and how it can affect them negatively. Dr. Dennison completed a fellowship in Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine in 2014 thru A4M. She practiced functional medicine previously from 2014-2016, and is excited about the opportunity to return to Functional Medicine with Integrative Hormone Specialists. Among her specific focuses are GI health, hormone replacement and cardiac risk modification.  She enjoys keeping up with the latest trends in functional medicine and applying them to each individual’s unique medical and lifestyle needs.

She attributes her love and enthusiasm for wellness from her parents who were both good role models in nutrition, cooking, and exercise. Dr. Dennison is an enthusiast of the outdoors, sports and dance. She trained in ballet from age 3 to 21. Since hanging up her pointe shoes she became an avid runner, and recently transitioned to triathlons. Strength training is a large component of her exercise routine as well. She is very interested in healthy eating, including keto, paleo, low carb diets, and regularly includes fasting in her routine.  Dr. Dennison is married and enjoys spending time with her family including three children and her dog.  She loves teaching her three children about healthy food choices, being active, and cooking and baking with them.
